WiP awarded a grant from the American Physical Society Published on 2021-12-22 included in NewsWe are delighted to share that our proposal for a Women in Physics Group Grant, submitted in November 2021, was accepted. This grant is offered by the American Physical Society (APS), and is worth 1000$. This is the first time this grant has been awarded to a group in Europe. Stay tuned for our upcoming activities!
WiP group attends the PhD Open Days Published on 2021-11-24 included in NewsOn November 22nd and 23rd, WiP was present at the 7th edition of the PhD Open Days at Técnico. Our poster, where we introduced the group, was displayed at the entrance of the Salão Nobre. We had the opportunity to chat with several attendees about our mission and our plans.
WiP Seminars Published on 2021-11-01 included in InfoWiP Seminars is a monthly virtual seminar series where internationally renowned women physicists are invited to give a talk on their work. These seminars include some time for an informal conversation with interested attendees to discuss the speaker’s career and experience as a woman in physics (if applicable). After each event, an in-person coffee break will provide the opportunity for attendees to meet and chat with each other.
